Name: MIDWEST ORTHOPAEDIC INSTITUTE CELEBRATES NATIONAL ATHLETIC TRAINING MONTH DURING MARCH.
Date: March 11, 2015
Event Description:
Athletic Trainers at Midwest Orthopaedic Institute (MOI) are being recognized for their contributions to this local practice.  .

The title “athletic trainer” is a misnomer but is derived from the professions historical roots.  Athletic trainers provide medical services to all types of people – not just athletes participating in sports.  These qualified health care professionals work in physician offices as physician extenders, similar to nurses and Physician Assistants.  They also function as rehabilitation specialists in physical therapy departments. MOI recognizes the multi-faceted training, skills and experience these ATC’s provide to their patients.  Under the direction of physicians, they assist patients in sports medicine, medical fitness, wellness and physical therapy.

As members of NATA (National Athletic Trainers Association) ATC’s are required to maintain a state license and submit evidence of continuing education in their field.  MOI salutes the medical and community work of their athletic trainers and their dedication to their patients.
